INFORMATION COMMISSIONER MESSAGE
I am pleased to present this annual report to fulfil two objectives.
The first is for the Jersey Data Protection Authority to meet its obligation under article 44 of the Data Protection
Authority (Jersey) Law 2018 to produce a report on its activities during each fiscal year.
The second is to meet my obligation as Information Commissioner to prepare a report on the exercise of my functions under the Freedom
of Information (Jersey) Law 2011. These functions are in addition to the data protection responsibilities that the
Authority has delegated to me, and the Authority has no formal role under the Freedom of Information Law.
Nevertheless, we have integrated the two reports of the purposes of convenience and cost savings.
