From 1 February 2022, it is no longer necessary for organisations to collect and keep information for contact-tracing purposes: the Government of Jersey no longer requires organisations whose activities have the potential for people to be within 2 metres of each other for longer than 15 minutes, to ask for contact information.

From a data protection and privacy perspective, the vaccine passport gives rise to a number of considerations. Data protection is a fundamental human right, founded on fairness and transparency, and is not a barrier to sharing information where it is necessary and proportionate to do so.

As our Island reconnects and employees begin to return to the workplace, we have compiled some key privacy considerations for employers.
